This is not a Feminist Painting

I'm working on this painting currently. I really need to get on with making some more stretchers. It's such a laborious process, usually takes me a day to make a whole stretcher and then like an hour to stretch canvas over it,too long!
Anyway, this is the painting I'm working on currently, this is it's "nearly finished state".
It's a surreal sort of take on my collage work I've been doing. I need to be careful I don't over work these pieces because there's a danger of wanting to be too precise just because it's a painting on a canvas (for me anyway).
This painting doesn't particularly have a meaning, you can take what you want from it and this photo isn't exactly the best quality. I want to give it a meaningful name too,so it's a bit playful.
I'm also making dioramas, check out the boxes below, they'll be the bases! (like stages)

Books,Books,Books

Twisted Mistress by John Woodforde
&
The Observers book of furniture by terry handers.
Both of these books I found in a charity shop near me and I love them.
I'm going to use both of them to create a dada influenced collage,by taking lines from the books and turning them into a story for my zine. I also want to get on making some small dioramas to play around with.

Music

My friend Luke and I have been working on a sort of folky musical project for a while now and we've got our first gig at the SU on the 24th March. Our band is called dead people masterbate and this is my drawing of us! Check out the links below to see a video of us having a little jamming sesh.

Zine

The zine is coming along well. I need to pull my finger out and be inspired but so far so good, about halfway through creating my plan and then i'm going to play around with it til I'm happy. This is a little double page preview, the final zine will be black and white photocopied.

beautiful film

painting

I've started a new painting. I plan to document the stages here for any painting geeks who enjoy watching how a painting changes and stays the same. The painting is a bit weird, but so is most of my work. Steering away from the theme of animals,i've chosen to work from a page in my zine. (which i will also post up here soon when it's done!) There's two people in the painting and lots of odd stuff will eventually be happening in it,which i haven't decided yet. Watch this space for sneaky peeks of painting and collages of mine!

Diorama

The word diorama can either refer to a nineteenth century mobile theatre device, or, in modern usage, a three-dimensional full-size or miniature model, sometimes enclosed in a glass showcase for a museum. Dioramas are often built by hobbyists as part of related hobbies such as military vehicle modeling, miniature figure modeling or aircraft modeling.
