Nobrow and Celebration
So,Adrian and I went wandering around shoreditch last night for a couple of hours with the intention of going to the Nobrow private view. The artist exhibiting -Brecht Vandenbroucke made some really beautiful paintings in the show. I didn't get to take any pictures but here's some i've snagged off the Nobrow site and various other places.
When we left the private view,it was onto another exhibition in 'City, arts & music project' where there was some interesting posters all over the walls and some stuff to pick up and put in the old research log. Turned out to be a pleasant evening. Tomorrow-more exhibitions, just need to figure out which ones!

Kathryn's Sketchbook & animation
I've finally sent my entry to this years graphic novel competition. I'll post it up here a bit later on but overall I'm happy with it. In other news, here are some character ideas I had for the comic from my sketchbook. Also,i'm posting a film that Adrian and I made together. We made it in the early hours of the morning.

Kathryn's Sketchbook
Here are a few drawings from my sketchbook. Tried to do a little comic, their just doodles. I thought i'd do drawing with a thick line and smaller thin lines for the detail because I see it a lot in comic books and i've seen a lot of artwork like it today. Just having a bit of a play. For some reason I always have to draw boobs in my sketches? weird.

the end.

Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little World
After seeing "Scott Pilgrim v.s the world" in the cinema, playing the Scott Pilgrim arcade game on the playstation and hearing my boyfriend talking about how amazing the Scott Pilgrim comic books are,I thought I'd treat myself to the first four books by Bryan Lee O'Malley. I'm hoping that by the time I get to four,I'll have enough money to buy the last two.

This is my 100th post.
I'm currently back home in the north and that means two weeks off work. I'm here visiting my family and we've done a lot of things in the week I've been here. Adrian came along too. He took most of the photos I'm putting up here.
We took the dog for a walk in the farmland around my house.
It was my 20th Birthday so we went for a meal.

One day, I did a lot of gambling in Saltburn slot machines. I wish I knew the guy in the background of the photo.
We also went to York but didn't take many pictures there.Oh,and we went and visited Mima in Middlesbrough for a bit of the cultural experience.

Adrian is blown away by the culture in the photograph above. The main exhibition on there at the moment is Bonnie Camplin.
So overall,a nice little week spent here. Back to London in a few days time so I can show my brother the sights of London and the lovelyness of our home. mmm

Kathryn's Sketchbook

I got a moleskine the other day for the first time and this is one of the first doodles I've done in it.I bought some knitting patterns the other day and used them as references when I was drawing these people. I ended up turning them into ridiculous superheros but I was happy with it in the end. Might even do a comic about them. Never know. They're my brother's fingers holding open the book, for anyone that is interested.
